Cam Cricket 300 Club Lottery – Please join!!

The past 18 months has been tough for cricket clubs everywhere and Cam Cricket Club are no exception. The 300 Club Lottery aims to raise funds to support cricket at Cam CC, while at the same time giving members and supporters of the Club the opportunity to win significant cash prizes. 

In the past the 300 club has paid for First Aid courses, coaching qualifications and providing new equipment.

A day to forget for the 1st XI. Gt Rissington CC came away with the spoils after bowling out Cam for a meagre 97. The visitors picked off the runs with 16 overs to spare, winning by 6 wickets.

On brighter news, the 2nd XI came away from Ruardean Hill CC with their first league win of the season. 3 wickets a piece from Chris Browning (3-32) and skipper Chris Wilcox (3-36) were the pick of the bowlers as the home side made a target of 180 to chase. Runs shared from Denis Booth (54), Craig Mills (39), Martin Booth (35) and George Parrott (34) saw Cam 2nd XI over the line with two balls to spare and won by a 4-wicket margin.

The 3rd XI are still searching for the 1st win of the season as they came up against top of the table Quedgeley & Hardwicke CC. The hosts set a mammoth 315 and despite the daunting task Cam can be proud of their efforts with the bat. Lewis Baker starring with a quick fire 81, featuring 8 x 6s. There was also valiant support from Cameron Moore (43), Ben Lane (34) and Ben Edwards (29). Unfortunately, the asking rate was just too much in the end and Nathan Allen’s side fell 79 runs short.

Cam Ladies secured their first league win of the season with a convincing win over Huntley CC. It was a great team effort all around with ball, bat and in the field. A special mention to Player of Match, Leeanna Ashford for her effort with the ball (4-2-7-3). Next league game sees the team take on Corse & Staunton CC at Cam CC on the 12 June at 14:00. Onwards and upwards!

A dominant performance away to Shurdington saw Cam collect their third consecutive victory as they continued their good early season form. For a full match report please click here

Cam CC 1st XI make it back to back wins by beating Gloucester AIW by 7 wickets. Nick England was the star of the show with a patient 84 not out. Next up for the 1st XI is a visit to Shurdington.

Cam registered their first win of the season in Gloucestershire County League Division 2, after last week’s disappointing defeat to Lydney, as they comfortably overcame Cinderford St John by 57 runs.

First game of the season was played today against Frocester. Though it was a friendly match it was pleasing to see all our ladies out on the field putting in a good performance and walking away with the first win of the season. Upwards and onwards we go! Congrats to Ali Dixon and Diane Duxbury who were nominated as the Players of the Match for today’s game.
